Teneriffe based artist Steven DIX, will tell you he paints modern abstract and romantic classics, but his works are far more personal than the sum of those words. DIX works transcend the paint and dimension on canvas beckoning you to touch, feel and engulf the work.

His works allow the owner to write their own story into the painting by glimpsing familiar buildings, scenes and textures half hidden in the canvas.

DIX has a long history with Brisbane and his grandparents created art and music during the mid to late 20th century in the then small town. This family heritage inspired him to paint. He pursued art, drama and music and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre majoring in Music. Art buyers and collectors are welcomed by the relief and escape from the daily grind. Not only working with paint on canvas, he is a multi disciplined artist who also writes and produces his own music.

DIX says, “I paint because I want to, because colour resonates with me. I have a creative spirit that is evolving every day and I want to share my journey with you.”
